FEEL THE BREEZE at TEAK TREE
Hello guys! We can’t believe that it has been three
months since the last time we wrote a review.
To be honest, we both didn’t have
time to go to restaurants and do some reviews. But, because this new
restaurant has opened, we can’t wait
any longer. So, Bella called her friend and we agreed to do a review of Teak
Tree. After a long conversation, we decided to go there on Saturday, and Voila! Our
collaboration with Bella’s close friend and fellow blogger, Alel, the writer of IPTENCE. Check out his blog!
Do you guys remember our review
about Epic Coffee last march? Well if you don’t, feel
free to click on this link and bring back your memory!
Last year we got information that Epic Coffee is going to open a new restaurant in Salatiga and
this year, Jessyca’s friend told us that this restaurant
which we’ve been waiting for a few
months has opened with the name, Teak Tree. The concept of it is similar to
Epic, even though the menu available is not as much as Epic Coffee does. But,
we don’t have any problems with it
as the menu were enough and different from what Epic Coffee has offered.
The industrial vintage vibe that
we got from Epic Coffee is reflected in Teak Tree. Exposed brick walls, wooden
tables paired with metal chairs, natural lighting sources, and grey-colored
flooring completed the whole industrial feel. What we like about Teak Tree is
their various seating area. They have a seating area on the second floor, and also
seating areas on both the outdoor and porch. There are lots of huge windows and
open spaces in Teak Tree. So, the airflow in this restaurant is very good as you can easily
feel the breeze especially if you seat in the outdoor area.
Some furniture also has vintage
touch on them. The armchairs on the porch give a classic touch to this
industrial restaurant. Also, to perfect the outdoor space, rattan chairs are
paired with the wooden tables in the area.
Before you become more curious, let’s start talking about the coffees, beverages, and foods
that we ordered last Saturday!
Aglio e Olio 40K
It has been a couple months since the
last time I ate Aglio e olio, so I’ve been
craving one. After I looked at the menu, this was the first thing I wanna
try. The first impression is important. The moment it was placed on my table, my mouth
was watering just looking at it. This tantalizing stringy spaghetti was
appealing to view and smell. Then, I took my first bite and it was palatable. Even
though this Aglio e olio could be perfect if they put a little more salt or
cheese, it was not too dry nor too oily. The olive oil was just right and
the spaghetti was not overcooked. I’m a fan
of smoked beef topping for Aglio e olio. However, the mushroom was delectable
so I don’t mind having it as my topping.
Overall, it was quite a nice experience.
Grilled Chicken 48K
Since I was quite hungry at that time, so I ordered this
menu. As you can see from the picture, the mushroom sauce was served
separately, we need to pour it into the chicken by ourselves. The grilled
chicken was served along with the potato wedges and some fresh vegetables. The
chicken was really tender and juicy, it was seasoned well and it was quite
salty but I guess it’s from
the butter so it’s still tolerable. The potato
wedges were tasty although it’s
rather overcooked. The vegetables were crispy and flavorsome. Definitely, one of
the worth dishes to try for!
FYI, Alel also ordered this dish, if you want to read
another opinion about this menu, just visit his blog and find out.
Pisang Kepet 35K
What an interesting name! It
crossed my mind when the first time I read this dessert menu. I directly asked
the waitress to explain what it is. I was quite surprised because actually, It’s just a grilled banana with melted brown
sugar sauce, cheese topping, and served with a vanilla ice cream cone. The cone
was actually similar to a pie crush that was shaped like an ice cream cone. Obviously, this
dessert was quite an eye catching and mouthwatering. All in all, it was sweet and
yummy.
Sun Dragon 38K
I was so in love with this beverage. The color itself was
beautiful and so appealing. It was a combination of lychee and peach syrup, and soda
and completed with dragon fruit pieces. Served cold, it was so damn fresh and
relieved my thirst since the weather was very hot at that time. The mixture
turned out really good and balanced. Thumbs up for this beverage!
Espresso Volcano 35K
I love coffee. So, whenever I have the chance to taste a new
coffee, I will definitely use that chance. Last Saturday, the espresso volcano
was calling me. It was a combination between espresso and soda. I was curious about how it would taste as I never
tried coffee with soda before. You know what? It tasted just like the name. Volcano.
It was lip-smacking and was surprisingly fresh and unique. I’m not a coffee expert so I don’t really know what good coffee
should taste like. Nevertheless, it was good for my palate.
Manual Brew 30K
Alel ordered this manual brew coffee. For the full review on
this coffee, you should go straight to his blog, and find out his opinion about
it. Also, you can read his opinion about the food that we have explained.
In short, Teak Tree is a new restaurant in Salatiga that is worth
visiting. Make sure you come and try out their menu! That’s all guys our first official
collaboration with fellow blogger IPTENCE. Thank you Alel for the collaboration and we'd love to do another collaboration in the future! For our readers, please wait for our upcoming review very
soon. Thank you for reading and don’t
